Delete Your Account

1. Delete From Inside the App (Recommended)

The fastest way to delete your account is directly from within the Cooked app:

1. Open the Cooked app and sign in.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Tap Delete Account.
4. Confirm your identity by signing in again when prompted.
5. Confirm the deletion.

Your account and all associated data will be deleted immediately.

2. Request Deletion by Email

If you no longer have access to the app, you can request deletion by email:

1. Send an email to [email protected].
2. Use the subject line: "Cooked Account Deletion Request".
3. Include the email address associated with your account.

Requests are processed within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation email once your data has been deleted.

3. What Gets Deleted

When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed:

• Your account profile (display name, email, user ID)
• Your household membership and personal pantry data
• Your grocery lists and check states
• Your private meals, recipes, ingredients, and ratings
• Your weekly meal plans
• Your app preferences (theme, sort order, etc.)
• Recipe cover images you uploaded to Firebase Storage
• Your Firebase Authentication entry

4. What May Be Retained

The following may be retained after account deletion:

• Community recipes you explicitly published: Recipes you shared to the community library remain available to other users unless you remove them before deletion. Your display name on those recipes will be anonymized.
• Anonymized crash reports: Crash reports cannot be linked back to you and may be retained for diagnostic purposes.
• Subscription records (RevenueCat): Anonymous subscription identifiers may be retained by RevenueCat per their retention policy. These cannot be linked to your identity by us.
• Legal/billing records: Any information we are legally required to retain (e.g., tax records) is kept for the required period.

If you want to remove your published community recipes, please do so from within the app before deleting your account.

5. Cancelling Your Subscription

Deleting your Cooked account does not automatically cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription. To cancel:

• iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → Cooked → Cancel.
• Android: Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & Subscriptions → Subscriptions → Cooked → Cancel.
