This Privacy Policy describes how Lars Grof ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in the "Flying Broom" mobile application (the "App"), a household cleaning task scheduler.
1. Data We Collect
Account Information
Flying Broom uses Firebase Authentication with Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In to identify users. When you sign in, we receive and store:
- Your display name (as provided by Apple or Google)
- Your email address (or Apple's relay email if you choose to hide it)
- A unique user identifier (UID) generated by Firebase
This information is used solely to authenticate you and associate your cleaning tasks with your account.
App Data
The App stores your cleaning task data in Google Cloud Firestore. This may include:
- Cleaning task names, descriptions, and categories
- Task schedules, intervals, and due dates
- Task completion history
- Household members and assignments (if you use shared households)
- App preferences (theme, notification settings, sort order)
Your data is stored in Firestore and associated with your account so you can access it across devices.
Notifications
If you grant notification permission, the App schedules local reminders on your device for upcoming or overdue cleaning tasks. These notifications are generated locally and are not sent through any push notification server.
Crash Reports
If you have opted in to "Share with App Developers" on iOS or equivalent Google Play diagnostics, anonymized crash reports may be provided to us. These contain technical information (device model, OS version, app version, crash traces) and cannot be used to personally identify you.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data for the following purposes only:
- Authentication: To sign you in and secure your account.
- App functionality: To save and sync your cleaning tasks and schedules across your devices.
- App improvement: Anonymized crash reports help us identify and fix bugs.
We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, data mining, or profiling.
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on Google's Firebase and Cloud Firestore infrastructure. Google applies industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest. For more information, see Firebase's Privacy and Security documentation.
Access to your data in Firestore is restricted to your authenticated account through Firebase Security Rules. Other users cannot read or modify your tasks unless you explicitly share a household with them.
4. Third-Party Services
Services used: Firebase/Google Cloud (infrastructure), Apple & Google (sign-in), Apple/Google crash reporting (if opted in).
We do not sell, share, or transmit your personal data to any third parties beyond what is necessary to operate the App. The third-party services involved are:
- Firebase Authentication & Cloud Firestore (Google): Authentication and data storage.
- Sign in with Apple / Google Sign-In: Used to authenticate you.
- Apple / Google crash reporting: If you have opted in, anonymized crash reports are shared with us.
5. Data Deletion
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by using the in-app delete account option, or by visiting our Account Deletion page. Upon receiving your request, we will delete your data from Firestore and Firebase Authentication within a reasonable timeframe.
You may also delete individual tasks within the App at any time.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has created an account, please contact us and we will take steps to delete the account and associated data.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App or on our website. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
